A Visit Home!

I'm currently wrapping up a visit back to the states. I feel like I've accomplished quite a bit. Here's my top ten:

10) Successfully defended my PhD dissertation. If you're interested in reading it, the file should be up on the NC State Library ETD website in a few months.

9) Ran in an 8K race (that Cruiser's Running Guide is paying off).

8) Purchased a new mainsheet and topping lift for the boat. (Our old ones were getting ratty in a few spots).

7) Caught up with old friends from the USCGC Forward. It was fun learning about life on the Forward, especially hearing that the Executive Officer had e-mailed the EYE of the World website to the entire crew.

6) Had dinner at my parents' house and lunch at my brother and sister in law's place.

5) Went to the National Zoo and saw monkeys (which have thus eluded me during our journey).

4) Visited Lindsay Middle School. Keeping it Easy Squeezy!

3) Visited Riverside Elementary School. Staying iron like a lion in zion!

2) Visited Kiln Creek Elementary School. Can't wait to wear my Kangaroo shirt!

1) Traveled 6,494 miles.
